I was in Berlin last summer visiting friends and also family in Bavaria. I spotted this beauty and would like to know why we don't get them here state side. I wish my photographer got a shot of the model as I was hoping, but then again not everyone is a motor-head LOL.

And we don't get non-USA made trucks due to some tax enacted decades ago, it might be mentioned in that thread.

Yeah, the Amarok is pretty badass. I would definitely consider buying one if they sold them here.

Thanks Obama! J/K Laughing

I'd love one with 4x4 (not AWD), TDI, and a manual trans.

And you would be correct. Can't go wrong with white and matte black.

1963 "chicken tax" Largely why we never saw many single cabs in the US and never saw VW sell later single cabs or dokas here. Nowadays, they just wouldn't sell very well against domestic trucks.

It's certainly not going to sell like the big three + Toyota, but the Honda Ridgeline does well for what it is. I would expect the Amarok to do the same.

The "domestic" manufacturers are just now getting back to the mid-size/compact truck after they ignored them for may years. This truck appears to be light years ahead of any mid-size truck the domestics have or are making currently. But being that I have no use or need for a self powered trash can(large or small), I'll keep my opinions to myself...
