Is it just as good to tack the colored gels to the faceplate as it is to try cutting them like the originals?

That's how I did mine, glued them to the back of the face. No problems.

I recommend maybe folding it over so you have double thickness. Sometimes the "stuff" we use to replace the gels is too thin and you see the light bulb behind when it lights.

If I have the rubber holders for the gels, I continue to use them and cut them to fit as original.

I do not know how to fix this. All I can say is it all works fine for me with what I use, Firefox.

That works good, but I don't think you will be happy with the green and blue
Staples changed the green color and the blue was never that good. This works great for green.

I have never rebuilt a speedometer with blue on it
It makes it nicer if you sand the back of the gel with 1500 sandpaper.

i will try to cut them out. thinking of an 11mm punch for the circles.
still trying to figure out how to cut the blinker one. if they needto be mulitple layers then cutting precisely will be difficult for me.

+1

Also, I opted for this instead of folder ID tabs.
