I own a Sunbug which I am considering selling this year in favour of buying a VW Camper van.
I have no idea of the value and would appreciate any input.
I am basically the second owner and have known the car for 20 years.
She is not perfect IE not intended as a show car but is very special with a lot of character.
All original numbers matching and I have the original logbook showing date of purchase and all numbers together with the early service record.
The 1600dp engine had a top end rebuild 30000 miles ago in 1998 with quality big bore pistons and cylinders. She has all new brakes. I have kept the car totally original with the exception of replacing the front drum brakes with Ghia discs. Ball joints, shocks all replaced recently and I can provide many pics for anyone who may be interested. I would not hesitate to drive the car anywhere and regularly take her on trips exceeding 300 miles. Sunroof operates smoothly and since she has lived all her life within 30 miles garaged she has no rust. The body is perfect with the only exception being a spot below the water bottle which is not a problem.
All service done with new electrics last year including blue coil, plugs, ht leads, points and condenser.
Gold paint has some small dings on the fenders but has a good patina. The purist may want to paint but I prefer the current look.
Any work needed has been done. The only thing on the agenda is a Transmission oil change next month.
She is a special car which will be hard to part with.
Input is welcome.
Thanks
Chris JM
