It is hard to tell because at export models in the year 1950, the wheels were painted in one single colour only, often the colour was a little more light than the body colour. For example, pastel green gars had light green rims; medium brown cars had light brown rims.

In the split beetle FAQ you find:

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=597810

But you won't find a named colourcode for bordeaux red rims there.

Fact is, it has not to be two-tone coloured rim, so a single colour rim with a red colour, perhaps the same red as bodycolour is or a slightly lighter red.

OK , Thank You very Much for that Info, I wish we knew of an Original car that had this color and we could see the Color of these rims... this was a Swedish car if it makes any difference ?

Someone had sent me a Photo of what looked like a Red car... and it had kinda off white / Ivory colored rims.... but I was thinking this Looked wrong , and someone else told me should be kinda Body Color but a little lighter

According Garwoods book... L51 Bordeaux Red deluxe and standards had L51 Bordeaux Red rims and hubs and could also have optionally had an Ivory L60 pinstripe on the wheel hub.

JT Garwood self published a two volume book called "Volkswagen Beetle car of the Century" decades ago. It was typewritten on a typewriter and spiral bound volumes. It lists every color spec of every year for any part. It also details out chassis number changes as the running detail changes appeared year over year. Want to know the correct color for your e brake boot on your Turkis 61 beetle??? (It's different than 62!) This is where you find it... Want to know the last chassis number for stale air 40 horse... It's in there... Want to know the last chassis number that had a given transmission ratio... color of the pinstripe on your split beetle wheels... Etc etc. it's all there. I bought the set in the 80's. It is THE reference for accurate detail info. Not sure if it's in print anymore... Haven't seen a set in decades. Maybe somebody will chime in that knows.
