FYI , I ran a piece of steel wire through the holes in the spade pins on one side and ran the maroon wire ( an old extension cord ) direct to the battery . I covered the exposed side of the fuse block with scylicone after I soldered it so nothing can short out on it .

Looks great GP. Cover the ends of the fan housing, to keep the air going over the cylinders. Try using some frost plugs from a water cooled north american car. You should also cap the nut on the fan as well (keeps the dust out for later service ). By the way shouldn't you be camping in this already? Rolling Eyes

Todays items ; mount compass ; make curtain rod ; install air shocks for rear hatch ;

Now if I just had a latch to keep the hatch closed ; good project for another day .
It was funny ; after I got the air shocks hooked up I still kept looking out that I didn't bump into the prop stick that I have been using for two years Laughing It's not there any more . Smile

I just got a pm that this one is being built in Norway on a 1954 platform .
It's interesting how different people solve challenges ; For the chrome strip on the sides I was looking at running board trim , but it was going to be too short . This guy used running board trim and a VOLKSWAGEN script ,then he used a second piece of running board trim .....cool idea .....don't tell him but I think I'm stealing that idea . Twisted Evil
Notice it doesn't have the big splittie vents on the side like the original brown one . It has a side hinged rear door too .
Anyone have more info on this one ?

GP , we are after all VW people. You are obviously travelling on somebody else s dime. Sheesh Hilton, what ever happened to Motel 6 parking lot.

My initial response was they don't do corporate meetings at the motel 6 and NEVER in the parking lot .

I had to laugh yesterday when I showed up at the location for the business meeting it was in a big tent IN THE PARKING LOT ! Very Happy Very Happy
These guys figured out that it was cheaper to bring the meeting to the workers .
