MSD, now owns Mallory.....Last time I looked a few years ago they were available, cant help you now....

Best choice may be to dial 1-888-258-3835.... "Hello, looking for......"

There is no longer any Mallory spring kits listed on the website. Looks like MSD is going to completely eliminate Mallory since they bought them out. I've hoarded a few extra caps and rotors for mine.

In the words and name of my favorite bluegrass band "Old and in the Way" (The Jerry Garcia was their banjo player).

The Mallory parts will still be around for awhile. They were also marketed as Truehaft, Scat, and a couple of other brands through the years.

Have you tried www.aircooled.net ? John used to sell a lot of Mallory Unilites - that's where I got mine. I got the spring kit and adjustment spacers there too.

I have a few Mallory distributors, but did not have the key
I ordered this from Summit: Keys and spring kit, but have not played with them. Summit has caps, rotors and condensers....but jest a little hard to find on their site

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/maa-29014
if this link does not look, the part number is: maa-29014
This link has the KEYS and SPRING KIT

part numbers on their site:
MSD-225 cap
MSD-25042X points
MSD-320M rotor
MSD-401 condenser
all of the above will fit the Mallory VW distributors

yeah...these kits...springs and tabs...seem to be NLA. I've searched and searched...

i was able to buy a YT kit and hope to be able to figure out something.

I've made a Mallory Comp 9000 dist for my VW (like what Scott Novak) did for the hell of it...but the dist has no springs and different advance mechanism that doesn't look like the YH/YL/YT...so just trying out the various options.

The VW Mallory i do have, has pink springs in it as well so no joy there.

I guess i'll have to just do a trial by error.

Guess I lucked out, for I purchased my Key and spring kit last fall and received......
but when you click on my first Summit link, it will reference
you to s substitute link with same product:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-850535
Summit brand: SUM-850535
which is not available..... but on the first link that gave info on
the substitute, said available on 6-11 if ordered today....... would
be worth a telephone call to Summit to really see if available in the future
if one really wanted this

i just contacted Summit and they said they no longer make/sell that item, nor have any other similar items available.

i also checked all the links from that page as well...no joy.

i did find 2 silver springs...but from another application i may give a try for $6.

thanks.

I would keep checking on eBay. Maybe you can get lucky and somebody will sell some old stock they found or cleaned out the garage.

hi I have used Mallory distributors for years still do . I have one in my bug now . I have never had to change the springs . for me they work fine . years ago. I did try the spring kit .but took them out and put the springs back that came with the Mallory . as for MSD I don't care at all for a MSD distributor .the inside of the msd distributor rusts . way to much money they ask for a msd .. if I was you. I would first find the key and set your distributor up for your motor . just so you know the key fits all Mallory 4 6 8 cyl. distributors. that use the key. I have good luck finding keys at none VW swap meets . and Mallory parts . good luck spencerfvee
