Lets say you had a split body.. complete (front clip to rear clip 5 x 12). No pan. Will it fit in the back of a full size pick-up bed? Need to know before I commit to moving it.

Depends in the size of the pick up.
Measure it and you will know.

If you block it up, so it doesn't crush the front apron, and are willing to let the rear hang past the tailgate (which has to stay down or come off), then yes (8' standard bed). But, it is not easy to load, and if the body is not solid expect to damage it. I would rent or borrow a small trailer if possible

Thanks.

My preference would be to just use a truck... but not at the expense of damaging the body.

My concern is if I rent the truck, drive 2 hours to the car and it doesn't fit that would be bad.

I've moved bare VW bodies several times using a full-sized truck with no issues at all.

I have had a 51 and a 53 on seperate occasions in a 6' dodge truck bed with the tail gate down

They fit but hang out about 5'

Find an 8 foot long bed truck an you're kosher

Totally possible to move a beetle in a pick up. Just bring a heavy duty strap.
