Where did you get the fire suppression system from? I have been thinking of adding that to my bus?

I ordered directly from JOGR online here:

http://jogrusa.com/collections/blazecut/products/blazecut-fire-suppression-system

It looks like they only ship to North America though Sad

Looks like it may be available in the UK here: http://www.noworriescampers.co.uk/

I'll be ordering one of those fire suppression systems for myself soon. Did you go with the 6' one?

Any chance you'll be attending Bus Fusion this year? It's in a couple weeks.

Yes, I ordered the 6' one. I don't think I'll make Bus Fusion this year - my daughter is getting married on the 5th. Hopefully next year.

I will be at the Bayfield Volksfest.

First camping trip with the Westy!

Took it to Stony Brook State Park in Dansville, NY, south east of Buffalo.

I wanted somewhere nice, but fairly close to home for the first trip.

Bus ran great, cruises nicely at 65mph on the highway and did the hills no problem.

Check out the Vanagon in the next campsite!

The first time I leaned back on my vintage 70's chair the brittle plastic snapped!

McGyver'd a fix with a zip tie.

Well I have to say I'm impressed with my Aux Battery!

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

I camped all weekend - Friday to Monday, and I didn't use a lot of power, but did use my inverter, charged my Blackberry, iPod and iPad, run a 12Volt light.

Every time I checked the voltage on my little read out, it would keep going back to 12 Volts after a while. Lowest it went was 11.1 volts I believe but back to 12 volts before I left.

Never had to connect my solar panel to charge it.

I definitely recommend it. Pretty sure it would run everything I would need for a week of dry camping without charging, and I have the solar panel if I need it!

Nice bus ; enjoy it !
Safety note ; inverters heat up under longer use ; just be aware . Yours looked a little crowded in the photo .

Thanks. Good point. I only turned mine on when I needed to charge my stuff, but yes - I should be giving it some air!

Wow, a lot of activity with my bus this summer! I travelled to Vermont, New Hampshire, Montreal, Ottawa, Algonquin Park, hit Buses of the Corn in Lakefield, Ontario, did Killbear Provincial Park with my daughter, went to the 2nd Annual Bayfield Volksfest, and just got back from a road trip through 9 states - Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Pennsylvania and New York! Toronto to Florida and back! Met up with Colin in Florida and spent a day working on the bus.

Decided on a name for her finally - Enigma - because Colin could not understand how my transaxle still works with all the needle bearing pieces we retrieved from the drain plug!

Enigma is now home and almost ready to be stored for the winter. Need to give her a fresh oil change.

Put 10,000 miles on her since I bought her last October - and she has performed like a champ!

So, after almost three years with the Bus, and a lot of miles - Toronto to Florida and back, and Toronto to Brigantine NJ and back, a bunch of camping trips to Killbear, Algonquin, Six Mile Lake etc., my last two trips I noticed a serious lack of power.

Checked it out and #3 cylinder is dead with zero compression, and #1 is almost dead. Time for a rebuild.

The 'good' news is I am rebuilding the stock 2L FI Type 4 so am pretty excited to get it redone.

No more camping in the Bus for a while, but I still have my RV trailer and Bug, so no lack of things to do.
