I was helping a buddy of mine clean out his garage and I found a set of weber carburetors. He let me keep them but I am unsure what size the carbs are and what type of engine/car they belong to. Any idea what they are?

Looks like is says 40DCOE. They are side draft carbs. You see them on 4 and 6 cylinder inline engines. _________________ Joseph

Those are DCOE side draft carbs, usually available in 40 or 45 mm bores. They are equivalent to the IDF webbers but are commonly used on rabbits, golfs & even Nissan 240 & 260 z's , 510s. Manifolds were available for lots of cars where the intake & engine bay allowed for horizontal mounting instead of vertical like the ACVW. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Too bad they're not original Italian DCOE's. Would be worth a bit more money... |

Ive seen 45's sell for up to $425 each if they are fresh rebuilt, $300 if they are used, but clean. Much depends on what they come with (air horns, etc). The last set I bought I paid $650 for the set, and they were chromed and complete. |
