My 73 Thing had fender damage and the replacement is gray, the PO spray painted the car white and I'm going to have a hard time matching it. I was thinking of just painting the fenders a different color maybe orange to match the 74 thing I have. The hood is also primer gray so that may be tricky.

I'm looking for other things with two toned paint jobs.

Has anyone seen or done a multicolor Thing?

Mine needs a paint job but I do not have the funds at the moment to put towards the Thing so I was contemplating having my 3 boys pick out different colors and paint each door a different color (my windshield is already orange) and make it look as gaudy as possible. Wife picked WLD TNG as the plate so I figure why not make it wild. Then later down the road I can have it all redone professionally. If anyone has any picks with different colored doors, hoods, trunk.... please post them. Kind of like the Harlequin theme but not so wild. I know I am going to get $hit for this post but figured I would see what you guys come up with.

Sometimes referred to as a "Harlequin" VW actually did this with the Golf MK3. I think it suits a 181 just right. Have fun

Guess you'll also be listening to a lot of the Partridge Family when you're driving it down the road with that kind of multi-color paint scheme. Wink
