I've got two Bay Window campers that need work:
1971 Westfalia Sportsmobile: Vehicle is already gutted, needs serious body work and paint. Earlier in it's life, it had a Bondo restoration, and I do not want that to happen again. I'm willing to pay for proper metalwork.
1978 Westfalia Campmobile: Vehicle is in nice condition, and is a daily driver. It has smaller rust holes under and around the window rubber, and some larger holes the lower corners of the vehicle.
I'd like the shop to do the more minor work on the '78 Camper first so I can judge the quality of the work before I let them tackle the more invasive and expensive work on the '71 Sportsmobile.
I need someone who's got a solid reputation, and is a good communicator when it comes to what, why, how, and how much.
I can drive the '78 Camper pretty much anywhere in the state, but the '71 Sportsmobile will have to be trailered if the shop isn't within an hour or so of Boca Raton.
Thanks in advance. [/b] _________________ 1978 Westfalia

Sorry but did you mention metal work or bus specialist? _________________ Jesse

I read your looking for proper metalwork. Maybe I'm wrong and don't take it the wrong way but I don't see VW busses as a mile stone in a career to proper metal, body and paint work. If the work is done right it doesn't matter what it's on but at the end of the day you need to be comfortable with whom ever is doing the work. _________________ Jesse

I'm beginning to get confused, and am not sure what you're getting at. Do you have experience cutting out rust, and welding in replacement panels for Buses, or do you not? That skill requirement precedes any other relevant ability. _________________ 1978 Westfalia

Nope, sorry I don't personally. Just thought I could help you out pointing you to someone but I think you are correct and should find a bus expert. Sorry for the bother. _________________ Jesse
