Here's the latest from the fastest event to date for VWs

Darryl Vittone set a new 36hp record @ 151MPH!! in his turbo'd 25HP based ghia.

Britt Grannis and Juan Cole's Ghia just topped 167mph!!! and was only .4mph off the all time fastest air-cooled VW record!!

Potter Bro. Racing got their FWD Passat 4dr with a turbo'd 4-banger up to 201mph!!!!!! and gained entry into the presigous Mojave Magnum 200 MPH Club. They went faster than all but the top V-8 powered cars!!

This event is still on-going so these could be bested before this is over.

Who say's VWs are not fast??

Thanks Nate, Britts run of 167.1 MPH was done on gasoline with carburators. No Turbo, No Nitrous, No Supercharger, No Fuel injection, and No computer! I believe that makes it the fastest Stock bodied, Naturally aspirated, air-cooled VW on the Planet! Land Speed Racing is FUN! VW enthusiasts,
Join the 36HP/VW Challenge and find out!
