I've built a ton of Hotrods and protouring cars...a two inch stagger is common...I don't remember where I saw it, but I saw a bug with 15" front and 17" rear Fuchs...didn't look right to me...maybe I just wasn't used to seeing that set up. This months Hot VW's has a Oval from Hawaii with 18's up front and 19's in back...IMO looks killer. _________________ 1956 Oval/Ragtop |

I'd be keen to see anyone else that has pictures of aircooled vws with 17" rears and 15" fronts.
My head says it would look the goods, and surely has been done many times - but this is the only thread and few pictures I have found on it. |

I'm halfway there...front is finished. Just finished a QA1 coil over conversion on the front and have the 15" Fuchs mounted. Bye bye to the Weld Draglites. Love the Welds, but the offset was driving me crazy. They hung out too far past the fender on my super beetle. About to start on the rear 17" Fuchs. I like the 2" staggered look, and besides, I'm building the car for me. So if you like the look, pull the trigger and don't worry about other opinions.

Finally have the rears mounted. The rear tire to fender gap should close a bit after the rear seats and stereo system is in.
