47 Years Later We Still Love Herbie......
March 13th 1969, 47 Years ago this month was the American wide premiere of Walt Disney's film "The Love Bug" starring a Volkswagen Beetle named "Herbie", America fell in Love with "The Love Bug" and "Herbie" became world famous.
Here's a photo with our friend Goofy trying to figure out what's happened to my 1:43 scale Politoys No.2 (Italy) Herbie. ~ Enjoy!

Does that panel van have a bench seat or is it a walk through? |

The Cursor? It's a walk through. The only Cursor I have with a bench is the singlecab. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

Cursor? Yes! If it were a bench seat it would be almost identical to my bus. Thanks for the name of the toy manufacturer. |

The DoKa I have which I think is the 2nd issue, has a non-walkthru also, but no rear seat. _________________

Cursor made a nice 411, and so did Paul's Model Art.
I'm not aware of a Cursor double cab. Cursor made the bay window vans and buses. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

I think the Cursor Double Cabs were issued in the late 90's, but not too sure. If anyone out there has more info, I would be interested to hear it. I could be way off with my take. Regardless, it took me a long time searching to find this one
Note the hole in the underside for the screw that secured it to the angled base in the window box

Nice customs!
Here's a neat item, a vintage Tootsietoy car carrier.
The cab is diecast, and the trailer is steel. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

Tekno Denmark #405 Jyllands Posten Newspaper VW Panel Van
My Latest addition to my collection is this early 1960's Tekno Denmark #405 "Jyllands Posten" newspaper company VW panel van.
Googled the company and it is still in business, one of Denmark's oldest newspapers.
Enjoy!

Its a Bandai 'bump and go' VW Sedan from the 60's. Made in Japan. It was part of Bandai's 'Automobiles of the World' series. You can read more about Bandai and some of their early VW toys here:
http://www.vintagevolkswagenmodels.com/vintage-cabrio-toys-cb/itemlist/category/216-bandai
It looks to be in good clean condition, although quality of photos leaves a lot to be desired. This model has a clear plastic engine cover showing a stylized VW motor with fan and fan belt; when running the fan rotates and the engine lights up and sparks.
I really like these toys, and have 3 of my own. You see these all the time on ebay in various states of condition and prices. I think $100 is what you would expect to pay in a retail store for a good example. The bronze color one in the middle i got on ebay for $40 and it included the original box.
If you are considering it, be sure it has all 4 hub caps as one or more tend to go missing. Something is not right with rear bumper but most likely it could be bent back in place pretty easily.
