re-rimmed. people has taken the centers off stock rims and put them on wider, bigger, smaller, etc outer rims. Somewhat common mod back in the days, and still somewhat practiced today

But then why would it be stamped 13"? Plus those centers don't look stock VW.

I know other manufacturers used the 5x205 bolt pattern (Anglia comes to mind) I would assume they are just off of some other brand of (German?) auto.

i'm pretty shure these rims aren't re-rimmed. And indeed, why would they be stamped 13"?

this 2/66 stamp...does that mean these rims where produced in '66?

Some really short front tires! Laughing
They could have been used for parking lot slolamming (autocross). How wide are they? And we definitely need to see pics...

I just bought a set of 13" x 4", 4x130 wheels from Switzerland, that were advertised on TheSamba. They just arrived, and just starting to look at them. They have KPZ markings (Kronprinz), plus VW and the Audi rings symbols on them. I think they might be Skoda wheels--but again, just starting to research. I will post a picture next chance I get...

13" diameter x 4" wide, 4x130 bolt pattern, KPZ steelies... In addition to KPZ marking, they also have VW and Audi symbols, and early '60s date codes, if I remember correctly (I have not fully studied them yet--just unwrapped them yesterday).

I think one of the four is riveted, and the other three welded. I'll have to be careful to note the date codes on welded vs. the riveted one.

What do you think, Skoda?

Another quick update: Spent a little time with my new 4x130 13-inchers this evening.

The riveted one is Lemmerz, and the three welded ones are KPZ.

There are no "VW" symbols on them. What I thought was a round "VW" symbol was the round KPZ symbol. All four have the "four rings" Audi symbol.

The welded ones are all '62 date stamp, and the riveted one is '63 date stamp.

I am going to start a dedicated thread at some point, but for now, just having some fun studying them.

For now here's a reference photo of a '62 Skoda, from the internet--the wheels do look similar:u

CROPPED. A 4-bolt VW Bug hubcap does not work with these wheels, by the way--it's too big. It might be fun some day to try to score some Skoda hub caps that work with these wheels. But that'll be a future project. Oh, and the center hole on these wheels is also a larger diameter than the center hole on a stock 4-bolt Bug wheel, so I'm going to have to do some creative searching for center-hole caps, which I would like to get, to give a more "finished" look for when they eventually make it onto the car (I figure actual Skoda hub caps are probably impossible).

Another internet reference picture of a 1960 Skoda wheel with hubcap (yes, I can see that looks like a 5.60x15 sidewall marking on the tire--but I was more interested in what the hubcap design/logo looked like):

Having an Auto Union badge (the four rings) pretty much rules out Skoda, as Auto Union was Audi, DKW, Wanderer, and Horsch.

Saying that, have you looked at the DKW Junior/F11 wheels?

Also, a quick Wiki check also shows that 1961-65 they used a 13" wheel.

Oh, that's excellent info! Thank you Puppy67! I'm just kind of feeling my way around in the dark here! Appreciate the guidance!

Here's an overall view of a 1961 DKW Junior, also with wheels that look similar (source: https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1463983/1961-dkw-junior-for-sale-in-hamburg-new-york-14075)
