I have been restoring VW and Porsche ignition distributors for more than 14 years now. I was recently contacted by a customer who wanted to pay for his restored 113 905 205 K distributor which is stock for 1966-67 distributors. There are only a handful of us doing this kind of work on that vintage of distributor.

When his postal money order arrived I noted that he lived in Bloomington Illinois.I lived in Bloomington in a boarding house for two years while I attended Illinois State University in nearby Normal. IL., to earn my teaching credential. I know the street that the customer lived on quite well and shared this with him. he inquired what street I lived on.

I had to do some Google Earth searching but recalled that the street was Mulberry and let the customer know. He responded quickly that his first residence in Bloomington was also on the 500 block of Mulberry Street. I am still trying to determine my exact address from back then but what are the odds?

He contacts me not someone else.
He lives in the same town that I did.
He lived on the same street in that town that I did.

About a month ago I was reading on a thread about a crankshaft pulley that had a built in crank start nut for a bus. It turned out to be a Chevy part but I noticed that his location was Fremont Michigan. That's pretty close to where i grew up. I looked at the bus the pulley was found in and I immediately recognized the bus as one that I saw almost every day sitting under a tree about a mile from where I lived 38 years ago. I shared w]this information with the OP and sure enough the bus came out aof a sand pile in my home town, what are the odds?
