Not a great movie from a plot/pace standpoint, but you can't beat the soundtrack, and images of Bob, both real and acted, are magical!

As a BMW fan, I would have preferred a 6-part Ken Burns treatment.

Sad when Aston Barrett's credits rolled at the end... R.I.P.

For those not addicted... some interesting personal and business situations in his life regarding race. His father was white. Involvement by Chris Blackwell and Al Anderson (both white) are a pivotal part of the exposure to the larger world/white audience that Bob blessed with his music, message, and Rastafarianism. Things were not "black and white" (forgive the pun).

There are a couple of touching short moments regarding two of his songs involving Rita ("No Woman, No Cry" and "Redemption Song"), but I won't spoil them.

One Love!

My favorite is Rockers from way back when, perhaps the original reggae movie.

Rockers' dialogue is English with subtitles. Gringos need subtitles to understand thick Jamaican accents.

"Rockers" was in '78. "The Harder They Come" was in '72, and also had/needed subtitles!

I think the second link is ABOUT the movie, and not the movie itself, despite the title. And that video ALSO needs English subtitles!

I am embarrassed I've never seen "Rockers"

Countryman is a great, underappreciated Rasta movie.
