View original topic: Need information on Autotechnik Express kit

Hi,

after some years, I will finally manage to get my hands on an original Autotechnik kit.
The plan is (after finsishing some other engines) to mount the kit on a 1953 engine, so I intend to build a dual carb 25hp engine

After checking all the threads here on samba, there are some questions left.
First of all, does anybody can give me the diameters of the manifold flanges? I assume 25hp Autotechnik manifold diameters are also slightly smaller?

Saw a pic of an article about a 25hp engine using this kit, you all know the pics, right?
Does anybody can tell me, what these additional lines above the generator were used for?
The kit that I will pick up also had an Okrasa oil cooling spiral, but I don't know how the fittings looked like... maybe the line that's attached to the generator stand was used as an oil cooling line?

Love this engine and looking forward to hear from you guys... if it's periodically correct, I dont fear to drill a hole in the generator stand to build a similar engine. Engine also appears to be an aluminium case, that makes it even cooler

Thanks,
Jan

well the obvious lines above the generator are the fuel lines, but Im sure you're wondering about the other, higher lines. Those appear to be connected to the hose that is tapped into the generator stand, similar to later breather hoses attached to oil bath air cleaners.

almost looks like that could be a pre-A case.

Sure I recognize the fuel line, I'm not in vintage speed since yesterday, although I'm just 20 years old :D :D :D

Yes the higher lines are those, that made me thinking.
Have to agree that it looks similar to a pre A case, makes it even more interesting. Pulley is also Pre A or pre 1951, but the other parts are newer. But the number area on the engine looks like aluminium case era.
The mechanism above the Autotechnik sign is strange too. It appears like two lines over it go to each air filter?
