Anyone going to the Northwest Overland Rally in Plain, WA? I'm on my way, may camp ontop of Stevens pass tonite.

Went a couple of years ago. The best part was meeting some fellow Samba members and camping out with some other Syncronauts.
We learned more about meal preparation than offroad safety or vehicle recovery.
I've heard the event has improved, so I hope you have a good time! 8) |

I talked to Joe and Dana (Das Mule) last week and they plan to be there (albeit as vendors).
I was one of the Syncronauts that stayed with Dave a couple years ago, and it was nice that we were able to put all the Syncros together. I heard that things have changed and now they have split the field into sections to manage the chaos so it's more difficult to create spontaneous groupings.
Please make sure to report on the Rally, specially any trail outings. |

The little cascades mountain town of Plain (central WA) is HAPPENING this weekend! Mostly crazy overland vehicles but there's always a few Vanagons. I'll be in the other field at the motorcycle rally www.touratechrally.com (fam camped in the westy) |

A nice day at the NW Overland Rally in Plain, WA
There were 3 Syncros, two 2wd vanagons. The big open square on the right was the vendors. Those overland fellas have a lot of stuff to sell. |
