Fog lights and badge bar with AA and Royal Automobile Club badges were popular accessories of the day in early 50's England.

The "CANADA" badge identified the car was registered to Canadian service personnel stationed overseas. Another "CANADA" badge is fixed above the rear license light housing.

To prepare for long trips in the mountains, the Bug was fitted with an accessory Fischer reserve gas tank. Gas stations were not as common as they are today and fuel was rationed to 100 litres per month.
