| Installation Instructions for Headlight Flasher Button SP 209 |
| The headlight flasher button is an accessory for service
installation in self-cancelling indicator switches 113 953 511 A,
113 953 517, 113 953 517 B, 141 953 517 C. The indicator switch need not be removed for installation. Installation takes place noting the following points: 1. De-burr the switch handle’s channel. 2. Form a loop (fig. 2) at the end of a wire (about 30 cm/12 in. long) and insert the straight end of the wire at the end of the handle into the channel. 3. Remove insulation from the flasher switches cables and hook them to the wire’s loop and pull the cables through the handle’s channel. 4. Unhook the cables and carefully pull the button in mounting position. The Plus cable is longer than the Minus cable and therefore has to be pulled more than the Minus cable to pull the button in the right position. 5. Put the coil spring (1) over the cast pin of the handle and position the button in the handle. Fix the button to the handle with the mounting screw (2), putting it through the hole near the cables. 6. Carefully screw in the screw at the handle’s end (3). Make sure that the button has play. 7. Disconnect all indicator switch cables at the fuse box. 8. Put the indicator switch in the “Right” position. Push the wire with the loop (fig. 2) through the cable channel (K) in the switches lower part, towards the handle. 9. Hook the flasher switches cables to the wire’s loop and pull the cables through the cable channel, one by one. 10. Pull the cables out of the cable channel (K), making sure that they can move in every position of the indicator switch. There must not be tension on the cables while moving the lever. 11. Tape (4) the headlight flasher button cables to the other indicator switch cables. 12. Lightly grease the rubber grommet (to the luggage compartment) and pull both cables through it. Remove grease. 13. Solder loop connector (6) to the brown flasher cable. 14. Insert the brown white flasher cable into a flat connector (5) and crimp it. 15. Connect all cables according to the wiring diagram (flip side) and test the headlight flasher in all positions of the indicator switch. |
